A north star, and a floor.
Two kinds of agreements hold every room. Knowing which is which is most of what a new person needs.
The practices that shape the room: confidentiality, witnessing, receiving fully, speaking cleanly, owning your experience, repairing directly. They are invitations, not rules — nobody polices them, and anyone can gently name one in the moment. Falling short of a goal is normal; reaching for them is the practice.
The smallest set of agreements, and the most firmly held. Four behaviors are not tolerated: dehumanization, engaging without consent, breach of confidentiality, and gossip. When they appear they are addressed directly — beginning with a conversation, never an ambush. And nothing here is mandatory: anyone can refuse, pause, or step out of any process without explaining why.
One way to hold it: the goals are what we aspire to, the Code is what we stand on. You’ll sign the Code at the end of this flow. The goals you simply start practicing.
Read them both, properly — they are what you’ll sign. Together they take about three minutes.
The north star · two minutes The Container Goals → Twelve practices that shape every room. The floor · one minute The Code of Conduct → Four firm agreements — the ones you sign onto being held to.Everyone who signs up for an event agrees to the Code, member or not. Participation is contingent on it, not just entry. Adults 18 and over. If you have resistance, bring it — and if you explore it and still don’t want to agree, you’re welcome at in-person events. The group chats are for people who have agreed.
