Agreements with the community
Code of Conduct.
Mantras is designed to honor each person’s process, hold the space steady, and let the medicine flow freely.
In service of that, there are four behaviors we do not tolerate:
-
Dehumanization
Language or behavior that objectifies, diminishes, or degrades others — present or not.
In certain instances we may temporarily lift this agreement in containers designed for that type of emotional processing and expression.
-
Engaging without consent
Physical touch, feedback, reflection, or support given without consent.
-
Breach of confidentiality
Sharing someone else’s story or identity outside of the container in which it was shared.
-
Gossip
Talking about someone negatively instead of speaking to them directly. Seeking connection through sharing a negative story about someone else.
These behaviors will be addressed directly and accordingly — either in the moment or separately, beginning with a conversation.
As a community we navigate experiences together. When these things appear, we leverage community to move through them.
The processes we go through during rupture, repair, and reconciliation are all intended to honor the individual and the community equally. We honor people’s “no,” and we need consent to enter into a process.
Note: nothing here is mandatory. No one is forced into any process. Anyone at any time can refuse, pause, stop, or remove themselves without having to explain why.
Honoring these four agreements will serve the container and purposes of the gathering.
The agreements with others and with self are an invitation for you to receive most from the experience.
